Colorado Springs firefighters rescue sleepy bear from tree

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A “zonked out” bear was “in a tree and stuck” on Wednesday, April 29, and the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD), along with Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW), came to the rescue.

According to CSFD, Truck 8 and Battalion 2 responded to the location on Crooked Arrow Lane, near Palmer Park Boulevard and North Powers Boulevard, after having received the report of the sleeping little bear. Through teamwork and patience, it was safely recovered from the tree and brought to the CPW vehicle, where it was then relocated to a safe place.

CSFD said that the bear was “healthy but a little sleepy when we said our goodbyes.”…
