CSPD busts illegal car meet, issues 26 summonses

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — An illegal car meet was busted on Saturday evening, April 25, and more than two dozen people were issued a summons to appear in court.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), dispatchers began receiving reports shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Saturday of street racers trespassing in the parking lot of a business. Over the next hour, CSPD said dispatchers received numerous reports from different locations as the car meet moved through the Sand Creek Division, which encompasses southeast Colorado Springs.

“These groups are known to move from location to location to avoid police contact,” CSPD said.
