Auditorium district set to buy another property downtown as it plots expansion

The Greater Boise Auditorium District plans to buy another property along River St. in Downtown Boise for future expansion.

The district, which operates the Boise Centre convention facility, voted last month to buy a full city block at 11th St. and River St. in Boise. Now, the district’s board has voted to buy another property right across the street — though this latest deal will take some time to come to fruition.

The board will enter into an agreement to purchase the current Idaho Records Management property at 970 W. River St. The 1.849-acre property includes a large warehouse building, first constructed in 1949.
