Western Oregon is about to feel its first taste of summer.
The National Weather Service forecasts the region will warm into the 80s starting on April 29, extending through at least May 5.
On May 3, which is expected to be the hottest day of the heat wave, Eugene is forecast to see a high of at least 81 degrees.
