AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The condition of Augusta’s two indoor pools has some city leaders going off the deep end.

The pool is in horrible shape. We put money into Henry Brigham, I didn’t realize they can’t even go swim,” said Commissioner Catherine Smith Rice. And at Henry Brigham pool, it’s been that way since October.“It’s a lot going on at the Brigham site and we’re also trying to find the funding to be able to take care of this location,” said Recreation and Parks Director Tameka Williams. The Administrator is telling commissioners the city spends a substantial amount of money maintaining these pools, and it could be time for different approach.“We just really have to do a holistic review whether or not it makes sense to continue doing some of the things we’re doing with some of the facilities that we have,” said City Administrator Tameka Allen.
