The City of Venice Utilities Department is about to begin construction of the Davis Street Sanitary Sewer Improvements project. The Contractor, DeJonge Excavating, is expected to be on-site beginning the week of Monday, May 11th. The project area includes Davis Street between Base Avenue East and Field Avenue East.
This project includes repair and replacement of portions of the gravity sewer system, which is up to 60 years old and subject to clogging and groundwater infiltration. Construction activities include the relocation and installation of three new sewer manholes and abandonment of approximately 700 feet of existing gravity sewer mains. Following the utility work, the affected roadway will be repaired and paved with asphalt.
