Shots fired send car crashing on Dewey Ave. in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A burst of gunfire sent a car speeding down Dewey Avenue Wednesday night, ending in a crash that shut down part of the road, according to Rochester police.

Officers responded after 8 p.m. to the area of 510 Dewey Ave. for reports of shots fired. As they were on the way, police also learned a crash had happened nearby.

Investigators say two men, a 30-year-old Rochester resident and a 20-year-old man from outside the city, were sitting in a parked car near a corner store when a suspect walked out from behind a building and opened fire…
