Trial began Wednesday for a man accused of a shooting that killed one and injured four others almost three years ago outside a downtown Shreveport nightclub.
Brandon Lawyne Batiste, now 32, faces a charge of second-degree murder for the death of John Ruffin Jr., 41, during an altercation outside the Phoenix club in the 400 block of Commerce Street around 2:25 a.m. on July 15, 2023.
