Knoxville man convicted in deadly wrong-way crash wants a new trial

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The driver convicted and sentenced to 27 years behind bars for killing two people in a wrong-way Pellissippi Parkway crash wants a new trial.

Eduardo Deavila has filed a motion for a repeat trial, something that generally means he thinks his original trial was in error. A motion for a new trial, per Cornell, asks the court to invalidate a past judgement and reexamine what happened.
