1 airlifted, another transported by ambulance after crash in Sacramento County

(FOX40.COM) — A two-vehicle crash on State Route 160 near Sherman Island Road left one person with major injuries Thursday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol’s South Sacramento office.

CHP said the collision, believed to be a head-on crash, occurred along the rural stretch of highway around 3:08 p.m. One person suffered critical injuries and was airlifted from the scene to a nearby hospital for treatment.

A second person sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ground ambulance, officials said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No additional details about the individuals involved were immediately released.
