Eugene man with cerebral palsy sues 7-Eleven over alleged assault

EUGENE, Ore. – A man with cerebral palsy is suing the owners of a 7-Eleven store in Eugene after he says clerks assaulted him last year.

Eric Matute filed the lawsuit Monday against United Unlimited Dreams Inc., seeking $1.5 million. In July 2025, Matute tried to make a purchase at the East 13th Avenue convenience store.
