Fentanyl hidden in toys, cereal box in federal drug bust, prosecutors say

Federal prosecutors have charged eight people with participating in a drug-trafficking organization accused of moving fentanyl and methamphetamine across the country from Mexico in packages and cars.

Those charged include alleged drug couriers and operators of drug stash houses in Salem and California, prosecutors said.

Federal agents seized 56 pounds of fentanyl, 116 pounds of methamphetamine, more than $300,000 in cash and 20 guns, according to an affidavit filed Thursday in federal court in Eugene…
