‘We didn’t need this’: Family-owned nursery hit with second break-in within 6 months

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Southeast Portland location of a well-known, family-owned nursery is asking for help after thieves broke in, stealing thousands of dollars worth of plants and more.

In a social media post, the crew at Tony’s Garden Center on 103rd and Holgate said that early Tuesday morning, three masked individuals pulled up to the store, cut the lock on their fence and began loading up their vehicles.

In roughly five minutes, the thieves made off with over $2,000 worth of plants, shrubs, hanging baskets, trees and pottery.
