MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCBD) – Santee Cooper could raise its electric rates in 2027 and 2028 under a proposal presented to its Board of Directors on Friday. Customers will have an opportunity to provide feedback on the change.
The utility is proposing an average rate increase of 3.3% across retail customer classes in 2027, followed by another 3.1% increase in 2028. The changes come after a review of projected costs and infrastructure needs conducted by Santee Cooper management and third-party consultants.
