EAST RIDGE, Tenn. — A once-neglected Cane Corso named Gus is now bringing comfort, calm and plenty of smiles to the East Ridge Police Department as its station dog.
Gus, a 2-year-old Cane Corso, spends his days at the police department with “lots of belly rubs, tug of war, and naps,” after being taken in following a neglect case.
Patrol Lt. Ashley Hewitt says police received a call about neglect and responded with animal services.
“We’d gotten a call, a neglect call, and that we had basically seized a Cane Corso from a call here in Eastridge,” Hewitt says…
