Getaway driver testifies in Skuce capital murder trial

A Huntsville man who pleaded guilty to felony murder over the same shooting in October testified Thursday that he saw Jaclyn Elaine Skuce speaking with the man convicted of killing the father of her child shortly before the 2020 Hartselle slaying.

Prosecutors continued presenting their case on the third day of Skuce’s capital murder trial. Skuce, 43, is charged with three counts of capital murder. She appeared in court with her attorneys, Catherine Phillips Carter of Hartselle, Wendy Lopez of Decatur, and Anne Elisabeth Poe of Huntsville, while Morgan County Assistant District Attorneys Garrick Vickery and Joe Lewis represented the state.

Anthony Larry Sheppard, 41, was fatally shot shortly after 7:30 a.m. July 24, 2020, at his residence on Dawson Street Southwest. Madison resident Logan McKinley Delp, 41, was later charged in the killing, convicted in October of two counts of capital murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole…
