EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — More than 786,000 bottles of nasal spray that were sold nationwide are being recalled because the packaging is not child resistant, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
The 6 milliliter bottles of Bayer’s Afrin Original Nasal Spray contain an imidazoline, which is required by law to be in child-resistant packaging. The packaging also does not have the proper labels warning of the dangers of ingesting the nasal spray.
The travel-size bottles that the nasal spray is packaged in pose “a risk of serious injury or illness from poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children,” according to the CPSC…
