Staffing, recordkeeping issues contribute to JFD’s worsening fire rating

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A lack of staffing and inadequate records are two factors contributing to a recent worsening of Jackson’s fire rating.

On Friday, the Mississippi State Rating Bureau (MSRB) confirmed the Jackson Fire Department’s (JFD) rating increased from a 3 to a 4, meaning insurance rates could rise for homeowners and business owners in the city.
