Germanfest returns to Tulsa with food, music and family fun

TULSA, Okla. – Germanfest is back in Tulsa this weekend, bringing a mix of food, music, and family-friendly activities to the community.

A celebration rooted in Mayfest traditions

While it’s known as Germanfest, the event is actually inspired by a traditional Mayfest, which celebrates the arrival of spring and the beginning of May. Organizers say the timing of this year’s festival aligns perfectly with that tradition.

“We call it Germanfest, but it’s actually Maifest, or Mayfest, the celebration of the first day of May,” said Germanfest Chair Nikki Brewer.

Food, performances, and activities for all ages

Festival-goers can expect a wide variety of traditional German foods, including bratwurst and apple strudel.

In addition to the cuisine, the event features live music, folk dancing, and a traditional maypole. There are also kid-friendly attractions like a bounce house, making it an event designed for the whole family.
