Local nurse recognized after performing CPR on person who collapsed at out-of-state airport

Eugene, OR – A nurse practitioner from the Eugene-Springfield area was recently recognized for her actions after performing CPR on a person who collapsed at an airport while she was traveling out of state with her family.

According to HEARTsafe Eugene Springfield and Eugene Springfield Fire, Adina Henderson, a family nurse practitioner, stepped in to assist when the individual suffered a medical emergency. Officials said Henderson continued CPR efforts until further help could take over.

Henderson had completed CPR training just two days prior to the incident through Oregon CPR. During the emergency, she recalled guidance from her instructors, including a reminder to carefully place defibrillator pads by taking an extra moment to check positioning…
