Jackson residents, officials unite on public safety concerns

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Since before taking office, Jackson’s new top cop has made it her mission to hear directly about public safety concerns, neighborhood priorities and ways the police department can strengthen its partnership with the community.

During a quarterly meeting on Friday, neighborhood leaders, businesses and stakeholders were able to share and receive vital information about the City of Jackson. Ward 7 spans a large demographic, and many people are working together to make the ward and the capital city a success.

“This gives us an opportunity to come together to problem solve, to collaborate and to really unite and move the process forward,” said Jackson City Councilman Kevin Parkinson, Ward 7.
