Queens Subway Horror As 63-Year-Old Hit Into Moving 7 Train

A routine wait for the 7 train in Jackson Heights turned terrifying early Saturday when, according to police, a 63-year-old man was struck and fell into the path of a moving train on the northbound platform at the 74th Street station. The NYPD’s Crime Stoppers unit has released surveillance stills showing an unidentified person and is asking the public to help identify the individual as investigators work the case.

According to NYPD Crime Stoppers, the incident took place on the northbound 7 train platform inside the confines of the 115th Precinct/Transit District 20. The bulletin describes an unidentified individual approaching and striking the 63-year-old victim, who then lost his balance and fell into a moving train. Crime Stoppers notes that tips can be submitted anonymously and that information leading to an arrest and indictment may be eligible for a reward.

The 74 St–Broadway stop is a major transfer hub on the Flushing (7) line and sees heavy foot traffic throughout the day, which can give investigators plenty of potential witnesses and camera angles to work with.
