Atascosa County deputies wrapped up a monthlong undercover investigation Friday with a trio of raids on shops accused of selling illegal THC products. The sting, dubbed “Operation Buzzkill,” zeroed in on small smoke shops, a convenience store and a dispensary south of San Antonio, leading to arrests, seizures and a clear message from local law enforcement about selling to kids and operating near schools.
Where deputies moved in
According to News 4 San Antonio, deputies served search warrants Friday morning at Purple Haze Vape & Smoke Shop in Pleasanton (2044 West Oaklawn Road), the Valero-Lucky Fuel Station (Jimmy’s) in Jourdanton, directly across from Jourdanton High School, and Street Farms Dispensary #2 in Lytle. Investigators reported finding multiple locations selling illegal THC products.
In a Facebook post, the Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office said the undercover work started after complaints from residents and local school districts that juveniles were getting their hands on THC items. The office added that “selling these products to minors and near schools is never acceptable” and urged anyone with information to step up and report it.
Arrests and cash seized
Two people were arrested during the operation, Linda Jackson and Sandhu Gurinderjit, and both were charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Penalty Group 2/2A, 4 to 400 grams), a first-degree felony, according to News 4 San Antonio. Deputies also seized more than $29,000 in cash that is subject to forfeiture under Texas law, and the sheriff’s office said additional arrests are pending.
