Soaking Rain Expected Next Week

Any lingering showers and thunderstorms from this evening across Southern Indiana and areas near the Ohio River will quickly diminish tonight. Skies will clear overnight, allowing temperatures to drop into the upper 30s and low 40s. Some sheltered and low-lying spots could experience frost, with lows potentially reaching the mid-30s.

Sunday will bring seasonably warm temperatures under sunny skies, though a few afternoon clouds are expected. A system passing just north of the region Sunday night into Monday could bring a chance of light rain showers and scattered thunder to the Interstate 64 corridor, with warmth continuing into Monday. Temperatures could climb 5 to 10 degrees above normal for Monday.

A more active weather pattern is expected Tuesday into Wednesday as a frontal boundary sags into the area and becomes stationary.
