3 arrested after demonstration outside Colorado Springs fast-food restaurant escalates

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Three people were arrested after police say a demonstration outside a fast-food restaurant got out of hand Saturday evening.

Officers were called to the McDonald’s at the corner of North Academy and San Miguel Street at 7 p.m. after the group refused to leave the property. Police were told the demonstrators were getting in the way of customers and employees and being a general nuisance, forcing the restaurant to briefly close.

When police got on scene, they told the protesters to move onto the sidewalk, where they could continue their demonstration on public property. The group ignored the request and allegedly escalated the protest…
