Rudy Giuliani Hospitalized in Critical Condition, Family Asks for Prayers

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently hospitalized in critical but stable condition, according to a statement from his spokesperson. Ted Goodman shared the update on social media, asking the public to keep “America’s Mayor” in their thoughts and prayers.

“Mayor Rudy Giuliani remains in the hospital, in critical but stable condition,” Goodman wrote. “He is a fighter who has faced every challenge with unwavering strength, and he’s fighting now with that same determination. We ask everyone to join us in prayer for Rudy Giuliani.”

The 81-year-old served as New York City’s mayor from 1994 until 2001 and has maintained a high public profile in recent years. On Friday night, Giuliani hosted his online show, “America’s Mayor Live,” from Palm Beach, Florida. Viewers noted he sounded hoarse and coughed during the broadcast, mentioning he was “a little under the weather” but planned to continue despite a quieter voice.

Giuliani has been closely aligned with former President Donald Trump, acting as his personal attorney during Trump’s first term. Trump responded to the news on his social platform, praising Giuliani as the “best mayor in the history of New York City” and revisiting unfounded claims about the 2020 election.

“Our fabulous Rudy Giuliani, a true warrior, and the best mayor in the history of New York City, by far, has been hospitalized and is in critical condition,” Trump wrote. “It’s a tragedy he was treated so badly by the radical left, Democrats all-and he was right about everything!

They cheated on the elections, fabricated hundreds of stories, did anything possible to destroy our nation, and now, look at Rudy. So sad!”

Giuliani’s recent years have been marked by significant legal troubles tied to his efforts to challenge the 2020 presidential election results. He was disbarred in 2024 after a Manhattan appeals court ruled he repeatedly made false statements regarding the election. His law license had been suspended earlier, in 2021, for similar reasons.

In 2023, Giuliani was ordered to pay $148 million in damages to Georgia election workers he falsely accused of fraud. Shortly after the judgment, he filed for bankruptcy, revealing substantial debts including legal fees and unpaid taxes.

At this time, the cause of Giuliani’s hospitalization has not been disclosed. Further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
