Flying Pig Marathon draws record crowd in Cincinnati

CINCINNATI — Thousands of runners filled the streets this weekend for the Flying Pig Marathon, marking a record-breaking year for one of the city’s largest events.

Organizers say about 45,000 participants from across the country took part in 10 races held throughout the weekend, ranging from shorter runs to the full 26.2-mile marathon.

“We do something that’s really hard,” said Doug Olberding, CEO of Pig Works. “We run through five cities. We go through two states. We try to tie in all our beautiful neighborhoods and all of our beautiful parks.”…
