Knoxville Weather: Chilly night ahead of a breezy warm-up

Chilly temperatures return Sunday night ahead of a nice warm-up to start the workweek.

  • Tonight: Not quite as cold with a few more clouds. Low: 47°.
  • Monday: A morning light shower possible in Kentucky, otherwise, partly cloudy, breezy, and warmer. High: 78°.
  • Monday night: Seasonable and quiet night. Low: 55°.
  • Tuesday: Windy with increasing clouds. High: 79°

Chilly temperatures are back in the forecast Sunday night; however, it won’t be as cold as last night. Frost concerns will be nonexistent outside of the higher terrain in the Smoky Mountains. High clouds will be on the increase as we head towards daybreak with southerly winds not completely settling. A stray shower can’t be ruled out early Monday morning in our Southeast Kentucky and Southwest Virginia counties.

We’ll warm up nicely as we begin the new work week with increasing southerly winds. We’ll start Monday in the middle/upper 40s before highs reach the mid-to-upper 70s Monday afternoon under a partly cloudy sky.

Tuesday will start milder and closer to average in the mid-50s for many before warming up into the upper 70s by Tuesday afternoon, even with more clouds anticipated because of the breezy winds out of the southwest…
