Temps take a tumble on Tuesday across Kansas

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – It is a mild Monday morning across Kansas, and the day ahead will follow suit. Strong winds from the south will send temperatures into the middle to upper 80s this afternoon, or ten to fifteen degrees above average for early May.

A cold front will sweep across the state this evening helping to ignite a few storms along and east of I-135 after 7 p.m. While some of the storms will be strong with small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain, widespread severe weather is not expected.

The bigger weather headline with the cold front will be much colder temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs in the 50s and 60s will be accompanied by rain showers as a second weather maker moves across the state.
