STEILACOOM, Wash. — A speeding boat with an unconscious driver narrowly missed two ferries before slamming into rocks near the Steilacoom Ferry Dock on May 1, leading to the man’s arrest for DUI after deputies found alcohol bottles scattered throughout the vessel.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office said the initial 911 report came in around 5 p.m. and said the single person in the boat appeared to be passed out while it was traveling at a high speed.
