Licensed dispensaries in New York can now host temporary cannabis pop-ups

ALBANY, N.Y. — Licensed dispensaries in New York State are now able to apply to host temporary Cannabis Showcase Events.

The New York State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM announced Monday that licensed cannabis retailers are now allowed to engage with customers at authorized pop-ups, farmers’ markets, and public market after the Cannabis Control Board adopted new regulations.

“Cannabis Showcase Events expand opportunity within New York’s regulated market in a thoughtful and deliberate way while keeping the guardrails firmly in place,” said John Kagia, Acting Executive Director of the New York State Office of Cannabis Management. “These events allow licensed retailers, cultivators, and processors to meet consumers where they are, at community markets and pop-ups––while maintaining strict safety standards, age restrictions, and local oversight. This is about creating flexibility for businesses while preserving public health safeguards and local authority.”…
