CICERO, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Popeyes Louisiana Chicken closed down its Cicero location permanently last Thursday.
A sign outside of the location on 7980 Brewerton Road reads: “Thank you, Cicero. We are grateful for your support over the years. This location will be permanently closing.” The sign added the closure was effective April 30.
The same Popeyes holds a history of failing previous health inspections in 2022, due to what inspectors said were “potentially hazardous foods” not being held at proper temperatures. Following the inspection, NewsChannel 9 | LocalSYR.com had not reported on any additional violations from the location since.
This is the second Popeyes in the greater Syracuse area to close in under two months, since a location in Oswego closed on March 15. It is slated to become a 7 Brew Coffee. Popeyes still serves at locations near Marshall Street, Destiny USA, Township Boulevard and Erie Boulevard East…
