A driver fleeing a traffic stop crashed in a major northwest suburban intersection sparking road closures and an ongoing investigation Monday afternoon near a popular mall and shopping district, authorities said.
The incident began just after 12 p.m. on Meacham Road over Interstate 90 in Schaumburg, not far from Woodfield Mall, Ikea and several other shopping centers.
Police said an Illinois State Police Trooper tried to stop a vehicle on the expressway for a violation but the driver “failed to stop and exited onto Meacham Road.”…
