Rockford woman arrested for allegedly trying to ‘run people over’ with vehicle

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) —A 37-year-old Rockford woman faces multiple felony charges after police say she used her vehicle as a weapon during a domestic dispute, striking at least two people and damaging a playground.

Yvette J. Larks is charged with aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and criminal damage to government property between $500 and $10,000, according court records.

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on May 1, 2026, in the 500 block of South New Towne Drive. Officers were dispatched after a caller reported a female driving in the area attempting to “run over people.” A brown Lincoln was seen leaving the scene…
