Mentz, N.Y. – A driver died early Monday morning when his car crossed a Thruway median in Cayuga County and was struck by a tractor trailer, troopers said.
Troopers responded to the crash at 4:17 a.m. between exits 40 and 41 in the town of Mentz, about a mile west of the Erie Canal Heritage Park in Port Byron.
A preliminary investigation determined that the car traveling west on I-90 crossed the median, struck a guardrail and then came to rest in the right lane of the eastbound lanes, troopers said…
