SWANTON TOWNSHIP – When Ben Mooney took the position of zoning inspector for Swanton Township last month, he knew about one big project he needed to tackle: addressing multiple zoning violations at Arrowhead Lake Mobile Home Park, as outlined in a December 2025 letter from his predecessor, Kim Middleton.
For his first report to the Swanton Township trustees during their April 14 meeting, Mooney shared that he met with the park’s manager, Colton Reed.
“We had a productive meeting. I let him know that I’m not out there to drop the hammer, but we need to see some progress,” Mooney said, referring to issues with blight, trees and vacant homes. “Clear communication would probably solve some of the problems. His upper management needs to reach out.”…
