SHERIDAN, Ark. – According to the Arkansas Department of Agriculture, the state has awarded $2.8 billion for water projects since 2021. Yet for many communities, concerns about drinking water persist.
In Sheridan, Mari Garrett said discolored water flows from her faucets several times a month. The water often appears orange-tinted and leaves visible sediment after sitting.
“I do not consume it,” Garrett said. “I don’t let my animals consume it.”
