Dozens of residents lined up Saturday, May 2, at the Township of Lyons to safely destroy sensitive documents, part of a multi-date program designed to reduce identity theft risk.
The shred event at 6404 Joliet Road in Countryside ran from 8 a.m. to noon with a steady stream of vehicles throughout the morning. Clerk Elyse Hoffenberg’s office hosts the program four times a year to give residents a secure way to dispose of documents they no longer need.
