A Cross Plains is in custody and facing numerous charges, including attempted homicide, after allegedly firing a gun at another vehicle while traveling on Interstate 65 last month.
According to authorities, deputies with the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office responded on April 22, 2026, to reports of a road-rage incident on I-65 South on April 22. Witnesses to the incident reported that the victim and the suspect, later identified as 26-year-old Zachary William Collins of Cross Plains, were passing one another while swerving in and out of traffic.
At one point, Collins allegedly fired at the victim’s vehicle while passing on the interstate, investigators stated. Both vehicles eventually exited at mile marker 108, where authorities say Collins fired additional shots.
