According to AAA, gas prices in the state of Pennsylvania now sit at $4.54 a gallon, 49 cents higher than just last week.
As prices climb, people are responding in different ways. Some people said they’re biking or walking more to cut costs, while other people note they still rely on driving for work.
Rising gas prices continue to put a financial strain on the average American, prompting some to reconsider public transportation options like the Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority (EMTA).
According to Sarah Morrison, the Director of Marketing and Communication for the EMTA, “If we do look back to that 2022 time, when we saw some record high in our gas prices, we saw the increase in our gas prices then, roughly 20,000 additional riders back when we can gauge those gas prices rose, but not quite yet for 2026.”…
