Ongoing drought conditions trigger warning from DOF; burn bans in place across hometowns

(WDBJ) – The Virginia Department of Forestry (DOF) has warned Commonwealth residents that ongoing drought conditions are keeping wildfire risks elevated; low humidity and breezy conditions are prompting multiple counties to initiate or continue burn bans across our hometowns.

Multiple communities across our hometowns have initiated burn bans until further notice since the beginning of April, while another county initiated a burn ban on Tuesday, May 5.
