SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Families of inmates in the Greene County Jail are being targeted by a phone scam.
Greene County Pretrial Services said callers posing as sheriff’s deputies or pretrial services staff are demanding money in exchange for the release of their relative from jail. The scammers claim the money is being used for “home plan approvals” or GPS monitors.
