UPDATE: hours-long west Wichita standoff ends peacefully

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Wichita Police say an hours-long standoff is finally over after a man wanted for a probation violation surrendered peacfully.

Wichita police spokesman Andrew Ford said it began around 10:45 a.m., when deputies went to serve an arrest warrant near Eisenhower Avenue and Newell Street, near Central Avenue and Interstate 235.

The man was wanted for violating his probation in a domestic violence case, according to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office…
