WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – It is a breezy, warm, and muggy morning across Kansas and the day ahead will follow suit. It is a Storm Team 12 Weather Alert Day for south-central Kansas as temperatures climb to 100 degrees for the first time this year, and the humidity makes it feel a degree or two hotter.
A cold front will sweep across Kansas this afternoon and evening. Any storms associated with the front will develop well east of the turnpike leaving the Wichita area dry. However, a second chance of (non-severe) showers and storms arrive on Thursday morning and last, off-and-on throughout the day.
After a much cooler Thursday afternoon in the lower 80s, normal temperatures in the upper 80s return on Friday. Warmer temperatures in the 90s arrive this weekend, but they will be accompanied by our next weather maker…
