Schools canceled, CSU Oval closed, and responders prepare for hazardous travel
Update at 9:12 pm, May 5, 2026:
Colorado State University has expanded its response to the storm, announcing a full closure across Larimer County campuses for Wednesday, May 6. All in-person, hybrid, and remote classes, as well as meetings and work functions, are canceled. The Colorado State University Spur campus in Denver will also be closed. A decision on evening events is expected by noon on Wednesday. University officials are urging anyone not required on campus to stay home, citing increasingly dangerous travel conditions, and advising employees with essential duties to coordinate directly with supervisors.
