MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Temperatures are warmer as you head out to start your Wednesday. Along the beaches, readings are in the mid to upper 60s, while inland areas range from the mid-50s to around 60. We’ll see more clouds today compared to earlier in the week, but it will remain relatively dry, aside from a brief sprinkle or two this afternoon. The bigger story today is the heat, with highs climbing above average—upper 70s to around 80 at the beaches and mid to upper 80s inland.
Cloud cover will continue to increase tonight ahead of a rainy Thursday. A few showers may develop overnight along the Grand Strand, but the steadiest rain is expected late Thursday morning into the early afternoon. Showers should begin to taper off later in the day, though a rumble of thunder or two is possible. There is a Level 1 risk of severe weather for parts of the Pee Dee and coastal areas, which could lead to potential rain delays for the Myrtle Beach Classic. High temperatures on Thursday will reach the mid-70s.
A cold front will push offshore Thursday night into Friday, bringing much nicer conditions. Friday looks dry with cooler temperatures in the low to mid-70s—great weather for golf. However, rain chances return this weekend as the front stalls to the south and may lift back north on Saturday. While Saturday doesn’t appear as stormy as Thursday, it will likely be wet, with some lingering rain possible into parts of Mother’s Day on Sunday…
