North Problem‑Oriented Policing officers in Sacramento say a routine check on a suspicious vehicle in the 700 block of Plaza Avenue turned into a brief foot chase and two arrests on April 2. According to the department, officers recovered an illegally possessed, loaded firearm and evidence they say pointed to drug sales, including roughly 100 unprescribed oxycodone pills. The Sacramento Police Department publicly outlined the incident in a social media post on May 5.
Police account and evidence seized
In a post on X, the department said NPOP officers spotted a vehicle with two people inside in the 700 block of Plaza Avenue. When officers moved in to contact the occupants, one man bolted on foot and was caught after a short pursuit, while the second man stayed put and was detained at the car.
Officers reported finding a loaded firearm on the apprehended suspect and a second illegally possessed, loaded firearm inside the vehicle. They also said they recovered about 100 unprescribed oxycodone pills along with other items they described as consistent with drug sales. The men were identified as 22‑year‑old Rishod Brown and 19‑year‑old Andrevious Ramsey, who were booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on multiple weapons and drug charges, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
