Trash along major metro highways is drawing complaints from residents who say cleanup has not kept up.
Citizen John Zilverberg said he has noticed trash for years along some of the metro’s busiest highways, including 35W, 94 and 394.
“Whether it’s wrappers, construction debris, furniture I’ve seen sometimes. So really all shapes and sizes,” Zilverberg said. “When you see this trash, what comes to mind? We live here we commute here everyday. For me, it’s frustrating seeing that and knowing that it can be such a simple fix.”
Zilverberg said he has seen cleanup crews from time to time but said the work has not been consistent. He said he contacted a Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) official and did not get the response he wanted…
