Fish fertilizer special use permit passes with vote of 3-1

The South Beloit city council voted 3-1 to grant a special use permit for a facility that would produce organic fertilizer.

Council member Ryan Adleman, who originally voted no to the proposal at the April 6, 2026 city council meeting, made the motion to vote with council member Courtney Prentice seconding it. In a role call vote, council members Adleman, Prentice, and Mayor Tom Fitzgerald voted yea. Council member Ken Morse voted nay. Council member Brian Hedrington was absent.
