ST. LOUIS — Two north-south corridors, one along Jefferson Avenue and another along Florissant Avenue, have been selected as finalists routes for the city of St. Louis’ proposed bus rapid transit system.
One of three proposed Jefferson Avenue alignments and one of two possible Florissant Avenue routes were identified as finalists for the new transit line, after months of technical analysis and public outreach led by Bi-State Development, Metro Transit and the city. Details of the routes were included in materials for three public open houses on the BRT system scheduled to take place this week.
The BRT system is a replacement for the canceled MetroLink Green Line expansion, a previously proposed north-south connector scrapped in September after cost estimates rose to roughly $1.1 billion. The BRT system is expected to cost about $400 million to $450 million…
